About the Journal

Scope & Mission

Joker 🤡f Academics is a fully peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the serious study of unserious scholarship. We publish rigorous research that dares to be funny, absurdist methodology that somehow works, and critical theory applied to things that probably don't need it.

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by reviewers who have been carefully selected for their ability to keep a straight face while reading about pie-based econometrics.

We believe the best scholarship lives at the intersection of intellectual rigor and delightful absurdity. As our motto goes: "Publish or Perish, Preferably Laughing."

Topics We Welcome

  • Humor, comedy, and satire in academic discourse
  • Absurdist methodologies producing surprisingly valid results
  • The sociology and psychology of academic culture
  • Interdisciplinary chaos that somehow coheres
  • Self-referential meta-studies about studying
  • Peer review as performance art
  • Quantitative analysis of qualitatively ridiculous phenomena
  • Case studies involving circus arts and academic outcomes
